I Speak of Hope On Jango Radio

The actual music for this was written around 20 years; The musical idea is a descending chordal progression from A G# G F# F E. The way it is played solo sounds very different to the way it is presented here. The theme is repeated at the end of the piece and the first guitar solo is played in a way that you have a sense it is taking you. The poem is itself, one of hope and it is one part of humanity (for everyone) that we need to ensure our peace, prosperity and survival.

I speak of hope like a circle

Embracing you deep in a well

In sight

The light of liberty

Clear as a bell

 

I speak of hope like a poverty

A morsel held in a cupped hand

Feeding

The bones of promise

Filling this land

 

I speak of hope like a fire

Quiet ambition holding the spark

Release

The piece finishes the "Stealing You" Album and is quiet and reflective. The piece is a simple repeat of a theme in a new key. A time to say "goodnight", relax, reflect and drift away.

A classical piece in 5/4. Opening and closing with a single quiet note. The piece has 3 characters; the sea, the seafarer's wife, and her seducer. Can you pick them?

For those simple days where you can relax and reflect. This piece is for guitar tuned DGDGBE; it was written a few years ago and takes advantage of the tuning to give the guitar a stronger tonal depth. The piece is orchestrated after the melody is introduced on solo guitar. A great piece to play and to lose yourself in.
